Thanks to its rise in professionalism, wider scope of inspection, and better inspection capabilities in recent years, Beijing Institute of Medical Device Testing (BIMT) has been able to offer better medical device supervision. In 2018, a total of 7 patents were applied (including 2 invention patents and 5 utility models), and 5 patents were granted (2 invention patents and 3 utility models). Compared with 2017, the number of patient applications soared by 71%, and the number of patents granted remains almost the same.
